President of Sedlak Kara AshbySedlak Supply Chain Consultants, a distribution and logistics consulting firm based in Cleveland, is pleased to announce Kara Ashby as its new president. Just the fourth president in the history of the company, Ashby is the first woman to take the reins at Sedlak.

“This is the perfect time for new leadership as Sedlak celebrates its 60th anniversary,” says Patrick Sedlak, one of the firm’s three principals. “With her vast knowledge and unwavering focus on client service, Kara is absolutely the right person for the job.”

Ashby has been an invaluable member of the Sedlak team for more than 20 years. During that time, she has worked with clients including JCPenney, DSW, DHL, Henkel Consumer Adhesives, Rubbermaid and Parker Hannifin to deliver dozens of successful projects. She loves working directly with her clients and says the relationships she’s built with the people she’s met in the industry are priceless.

With Ashby’s appointment to the presidency, Sedlak continues its family legacy of exceptional business leaders. Ashby, who is the daughter of former president Jeff Graves and granddaughter of company founder Joseph A. Sedlak, accepted the appointment by saying, “My grandfather founded Sedlak on three principles: family, faith and profession. I’m proud to carry on his legacy.”

Thanks to her industry expertise and long history with the company, Ashby’s vision for Sedlak is clear. “While a lot has changed since I started here, I believe we need to build on our core strengths,” she says. “We know from experience that clients respond when they get to know us. It’s the primary reason the company has been a trusted leader in the industry.

“I have confidence that by working together, we can ensure that the Sedlak name remains respected for many years to come.”
